Phnom Penh

After a couple of days here in Phnom Penh we are planning our trip further on towards Vietnam.

We arrived Phnom Penh on the roof top of a boat yesterday. We have also visited “The Killing Fields” and the torture prison “S.21″.

Checked in to a fairly posh hotel, overlooking the Mekong river. Phnom Penh is like steping back 50 years from Bangkok. Extremely poor, dirty and simple, but yet sharming and interresting. And extremely cheap.

Loads of beggers and people without arms and legs wander the streets trying to sell you everything from books to bananas.

Today we are trying to find out how to get to Ho Chi Min, and it seems a 6 hour bus ride is the most comfortable way to go, hoping the crossing here is easier than the Thai-Cambodian border of Poi Pet, which really was a sad chapter.
