Yangon street vendors selling various food. Yangon is a busteling city, and most of the citys shopping can be done at street level. The city turns into a ghost town at 21.00 every night, when shops and restaurants close.

The Areca nut is widely used as a mild stimulant in South East Asia. The nut is packed in a Betle leaf, and mixed with lime. Chewing the nut results in the characteristic red teeth that can be seen among the people using it on a dailey basis.

Telephone boots in Myanmar is pretty basic. A booth. A operator.

Yangon Taxi. Transport is pretty expensive in Myanmar due to the heavy governmental taxes on fuel.

Soloppgang over Bagan. Med sine over 2000 Pagodaer (kremtoppene på bildet) er Bagan et relativt mektig syn. Det gjør selvsagt ingen ting med et par luftballonger heller...

Innle Lake i morgengry

Innsjøen Innle består av en rekke landsbyer spredt ut over sumpområdene, hvis hus står på stolper, og eneste transportmulighet er ved hjelp av båt.

Vi leide oss en Long-tail-båt for en dag og surra rundt på innsjøen mellom de ulike markedene og landsbyene.

- Skal det være et egg eller to. En jente forsøker å selge oss egg av ett eller annet slag på bussturen mellom Bagan og Innle.

Reisefølget er noe sliten etter tre timer med søvn, og det som viste seg å skulle bli 16 timer på en slags buss...

Yangon International. Den definitivt mest behagelig og effektive måten å reise rundt i Myanmar på er med fly. Alt er dog noe anderledes enn hva vi kjenner fra Kongeriket...

Yangon Streetlife. Med sine fire millioner innbyggere er Yangon er svært så pulserende og livlig by. Dog kun på dagtid. Etter klokken ni er det, bokstavlig talt, ingen ting som er åpent.

Telefonkiosker av dette slaget finnes over hele Myanmar. Fascinerende saker.
