After 4 days in Cambodia, we are preparing to leave for Vietnam. Here is a little photo wrap-up from our stay. Above is a truck, Khmer style.

Very common sign in Cambodia… I like the hand grenade in particular.

We went from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh by boat. All the tourists stuffet at the roof top. Lovely.

Passing floating villages on our way down the river.

Not that many gas stations in Phnom Penh, so everywhere small stands like this are selling gasoline on 1 litre bottles.

Visiting the Killing fields, seeing and trying to understand the horrors of the Pol Pot regime.

Came across a shitload of monkeys outside the Phnom Wat temple. Lots of Khmers feeding them with bananas and mango.

Phnom Penh

After a couple of days here in Phnom Penh we are planning our trip further on towards Vietnam.

We arrived Phnom Penh on the roof top of a boat yesterday. We have also visited “The Killing Fields” and the torture prison “S.21″.

Checked in to a fairly posh hotel, overlooking the Mekong river. Phnom Penh is like steping back 50 years from Bangkok. Extremely poor, dirty and simple, but yet sharming and interresting. And extremely cheap.

Loads of beggers and people without arms and legs wander the streets trying to sell you everything from books to bananas.

Today we are trying to find out how to get to Ho Chi Min, and it seems a 6 hour bus ride is the most comfortable way to go, hoping the crossing here is easier than the Thai-Cambodian border of Poi Pet, which really was a sad chapter.

We have made it to the Cambodia town of Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat.

The phone and internet connection here however, is not what it was in Thailand, and I am both unable to send/receive SMS and post Blogs….

Will try to update the Blog through pretty bad Internet cafes…
